Very very cool – free WIFI at Nite Courts

Just sitting here munching on a very good Philly cheese steak pizza and checking out my blog at the same time…. ah, let the good times roll!  Kudos to Nite Courts for being one of the first in Armstrong County, PA, to offer free WIFI.

Yesssss!! the losing streak ends

The Pens looked good as they helped the Atlanta Thrashers continue THEIR losing streak.  Sorry to hear about Chris Kunitz injury, hope to see him in the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Can Pens Top the East Division?

In a word, YES!  Consider how far they went down when we had so many guys injured – well, the same rebound can happen when things start coming together again.

Go PENS!

Steelers continue with heart-attack endings

Wallace with a winning attitude

Wallace with a winning attitude

Who would have thought that Coach Tomlin’s decision for the on-side kick would have left JUST ENOUGH TIME on the clock for Big Ben and company to come back for the winning touchdown?  Me, that’s who!

Once in a very llllooooonnnnnnnnggggg while I get something right.  On this one,  I have two witnesses, Julie who was across the room from me and her Uncle John Koslosky who was on the phone with her during the final minutes of the game.

Yes, I too had doubts that the defense could hold Green Bay scoreless in the final 3:58.  And us with a lead that they could beat with a field goal?  I thought it needed to be a two-possession game… one for them and one for us.  Ben, thank you!  Wallace, you keep that game ball, you deserve it!  And Coach Tomlin, good call!  I never thought of the on-side kick until you called it.

(Next time, let’s just recover the ball on the onside kick and run the clock out, ok?)

Thanks Neill!

Neill Andritz of River’s Edge Canoe & Kayak is acting as my conscience today… says it has been a long time since I’ve posted to my blog.  He’s right!  Thanks, Neill… hope you and Evelyn get even more people on the river next year, it’s good for our economy.

Wow, it’s been nine days already?…

Wow, it’s been nine days since my last post? Unbelievable but absolutely true. I’m trying to find my rhythm and there’s just a lot to do and a lot to think about. FYI, I prefer to NOT post if I’m in a bad mood…. just doesn’t seem right that you’d have to put up with that, right?

Hey, a big HOWDY and thank you to niece Sherry Kinzey for sending me her new snail mail address. She and husband Scott are moving ‘up’ in the world which is actually ‘down’stairs to a bigger apartment. Congratulations, kiddo!

Also, a big thank you to Andrea Townsend, one of our placemat ad sales ladies, for reminding me of a few calls I needed to make for her and Linda. I’ll see if it’s ok to publish some bio information on them… both are very nice ladies and a HUGE help to me running the business.

How about those Penguins? Yes, they lost in a shootout last night but they gained one point toward the playoffs by coming back and tying up the score after being down 3-0 to Columbus. Go Pens!

Over the next few weeks, we will observe March Madness in collegiate basketball (Go Pitt!), turning our clocks forward for Daylight Savings Time on March 8th,  St. Patrick’s Day and all the shenanigans that go with it, and the OFFICIAL FIRST DAY OF SPRING on March 20th.  R U ready?

Locally, we’re watching the Ford City Varsity Hockey Team move up the ladder towards a state championship (wouldn’t that be great?  Go Sabers!) and watching the Penguins fight for one of the coveted playoff berths for the Stanley Cup.  Now playing under Coach Bylsma, the team is on a 5-1-1 winning streak that has put them in the 8th spot (knocking on wood…) – GO PENS!

Armstrong Habitat for Humanity (AHFH) continues toward building its 6th house this year.  The construction committee met at Clark’s on Saturday followed by a trip to the proposed work site on N. Grant Ave next to the Murray’s house.

Clem Rosenberger III, Senior VP of Farmers & Merchants Bank, came aboard the AHFH Board of Directors at the February meeting – welcome, Clem, and God Bless.   If anyone else wants to help out with construction or any of our other activities, call me at 724-548-7249 or call our Executive Director Donnie Gutherie at 724-545-4905.  The ‘feel good’ paycheck is worth it!
