In the beginning, there were three areas: When Local4All bought an existing placemat advertising business from Dan Warner of Ford City, PA, only three areas were supported – Kittanning, Ford City, and Alle-Kiski. With a combination of good service and our ever-present word search puzzles and a second, special list of “Words for Kids” tied in with the word-search puzzle, we have grown.
Since our start on February 22, 2007, we have added the following:
FNS: The Freeport-Natrona-Sarver area was added in October 2007. Phillippi’s, Do-Drop Inn, the Creighton Hotel, and Freeport Foods were the first restaurants aboard. The Hometown Restaurant in Tarentum joined soon after as did Novotny’s Pizza in Freeport. A sincere thank you to their owners… all six still use our placemats.
CSLB: Our first delivery to the Cheswick-Springdale-Lower Burrell area was 8/29/08. Another placemat company had worked over the area previously, making promises that were never fulfilled, both to restaurants and to advertisers. The uphill battle/skirmish was such that we even wrote the word “FREE” on our first delivery slip for Clementine’s to reassure them of our good intentions.
B: The Butler area was added for the Holiday season of 2008. Starting with only four restaurants, the number soon grew when we were able to just hand restaurant owners and manager already-printed placemats that were 100% FREE!

IN: The Indiana area was also added for the Holiday season of 2008. A special thanks goes to Ed at Chappy’s, Joe at the Rustic Lodge, and Paula at Sandy Kaye’s in Shelocta for taking that initial leap of faith in 2008 and still using our placemats today.
About our pricing: Targeted to make placemat advertising affordable to both small and large businesses, we use a single color ink on white paper to keep costs down. We added volume discounts to our pricing structure within a few weeks of buying the business, bringing the cost per placemat down even more.
To our “ongoing” advertisers in the Kittanning, Ford City, and Alle-Kiski areas – a sincere thank you for your patience. We know that change takes time but that, in the long run, you would probably enjoy writing smaller checks for your placemat advertising.
