Dear Local4All visitors,

I am very proud to have brought value to our community in another way beyond the website.  In February, 2007, Dan Warner offered to sell us his placemat business and we ended up saying 'yes', but not until after some negotiating and coming up with a win-win deal.  So, to our restaurants, advertisers, sales people, graphics designer, and printer... THANK YOU!  To all of you visitors who may not have seen it yet, you can see our placemats business at placemats.local4all.com.

Did you notice something interesting in the address bar? Yes, for most of you, the URL is quite different than what you typed or clicked. The shortcut (URL) that brought you here is cb.local4all.com. Occasionally, you see will see 'for' in the middle of Local4All.... that works just as well as the number '4' in Local4All shortcuts.

A few of you will be curious about my extensive use of shortcut URLs which is explained further down the page.

What I (we) do: I support local nonprofits and businesses AND people like you who want faster access to good information.

Using the forms listed below, I can publish events, success stories, even upload pictures to help nonprofits in my hometown. By making the forms available to volunteers, more local information can be published and updated as needed, more quickly than ever before. The best part of the picture - there is no charge to nonprofit organizations or their volunteers. If you click into one of the forms, nine times out of ten you will find a preview button that allows proofreading information before submitting. That single feature saves a LOT of going back to edit later!

Needless to say, nobody has enough hours in the day to type everything for 1.14 million nonprofits or 109 million volunteers, BUT consider the impact of 109 million volunteers posting one event each. You get the idea, I know you do!

Take a look at the forms below and see what you think. Better yet, test them with real data. In my opinion, they are as easy as sending email and more effective if you consider the idea that we are publishing new information constantly for the benefit of a small region, not just a single person.

 Publish local work days, fundraisers, and other events even a year in advance.  The more advance notice they have, the more likely that people are able to "save the day" and attend.

 Post thank you notes, wish lists, and more in multiple categories.  See the drop down menu on the form for details.
* Online Brochure

 List your organization in our Nonprofits Directory, it's free and easy.  Post an address, contact information, committee chairs, and whatever else you want the public to know.  With username and password, you can change content at any time, any day. A unique web page address (URL) is generated automatically by our system which you can use in photo captions, news stories, and event listings. Better URLs like ymca.local4all.com can be assigned if you contact our office.
* Online Brochure for Churches

 Similar to form_non-profits with a drop-down menu of 240+ denominations. The most popular denominations have been listed at the top and the remainder are alphabetized.  With username and password, church listings can also be changed at any time, any day.
** Headline stories

 Write a story for or about your community.  Major newspapers have limited space and resources.  If you have time, we provide forms and guidance. This form has both a preview button and a checkbox where you can ask for someone to review spelling and grammar.

 If a story has been written about you and it's on the web, create a link to it on Local4All.com. The best three links for a community are displayed at the top of our main page for that locale. To catch public interest, you can copy text from the article or write your own.
** Custom maps

 Within a couple minutes and at no cost to yourself or other taxpayers, you can create a  map to help others find you or you can ask someone to help you find them by making a custom map themselves.  Shortcut URL:  mapmaker.local4all.com  Each map created will be assigned a shortcut URL like 'm258.local4all.com', a map created for the StrongLand Chamber of Commerce office between Vandergrift and Leechburg.

 Pictures are worth a thousand words.  In the caption, let the public know what your organization is doing and maybe include your URL so they can find out more about you. If you don't have a website, please reread our comments above about creating an Online Brochure.
* username and password can be shared by several volunteers.  Set up a personal account under the organization's name. Only family-friendly, child-safe content is approved.

About Shortcuts:
Local4All shortcuts make information easy to find.  Using 2-letter or letter-plus-number combinations is the norm, although zip codes and city.state combinations are also used.  The examples in the second column below represent thousands of valid shortcut URLs in the Local4All system.
Type the shortcuts below directly into your browser's address bar.  No 'www' is needed.
