Located just below the picturesque courthouse on the corner of Grant Ave and Market Street, Kittanning, it has been open since April 20, 1976, and is owned and operated by the Silagyi family. Within the County Seat are many unique features. The exterior and interior walls are constructed from pine, curly maple, and oak wood still of its original color taken from farm buildings over one hundred years old. A ten foot high stone waterfall dominates the entrance to the dining room. The 25 foot long fireplace, also made from stone, was once a spring house in Sugarcreek Township. It provide the warmth that adds to the rustic decor. The tiffany lamps and candle chandeliers throughout the restaurant add a finishing touch to the already cozy atmosphere. They were handmade in Mexico from wrought iron, carved wood, and blown glass. The wall dividers and back bar wall in the barroom are made of hand molded brick 123 years old and covering the bar top is hand pieced, genuine slate. The County Seat is open every day of the week for your dining pleasure and convenience. The County Seat caters to small and large parties, banquets, wedding receptions, anniversaries, and business meetings. For complete details, please see the manager. The Silagyi's want to thank all our patrons who have become friends over the years and invite them and newcomers to dine with us while in Kittanning.
