| Two Parker Companies Part of Extreme Makeover for Deserving Family | Parker, PA 16049 | | Parker-based companies Universal Forest Products and Great Lakes Framing were instrumental in turning the blueprints for an Extreme Makeover house into a reality. The recipient family of Penn Hills, PA, had five children in a single bedroom in their previous home. Both parents, Frank and Tracy Slaughter, had been giving to their community for years and were now on the receiving end. Local residents can see Universal Forest Products and Great Lakes Framing in action in the Extreme Makeover Home Edition show when it airs in January 2009. The Vandergrift Market, a spin-off of the Vandergrift Farmers' Market, is a new indoor market where various vendors are gathering each week to sell their goods. It is located at 134 Grant Ave., Vandergrift in the old J.C. Penney's building. Our hours of operation are Thursdays 3-6:30 pm, the same time as the Farmers' Market at the Columbia Ave. parking lot.
