| Habitat for Humanity plan advances | Uniontown, PA 15401 | City council took official action Monday that will allow new home construction to proceed for a Habitat for Humanity family.
The panel agreed unanimously to turn over the .14-acre North Sixth Street lot to the county branch of the agency as the city's contribution to the program.
John Morgan, executive director of the local Habitat for Humanity, said that the signing of the deed by city officials was "good news" and would work in conjunction with the building permit application process being undertaken by the organization.

The Vandergrift Market, a spin-off of the Vandergrift Farmers' Market, is a new indoor market where various vendors are gathering each week to sell their goods. It is located at 134 Grant Ave., Vandergrift in the old J.C. Penney's building. Our hours of operation are Thursdays 3-6:30 pm, the same time as the Farmers' Market at the Columbia Ave. parking lot.
